AbstractAbstract
[en] A systematic study has been carried out of the emission, excitation, and temperature behaviour of mono- and biactivated solid solutions of (ZnO)sub(x)(Y2O3)sub(1-x) (x = 0.1 to 1.0). It was observed that the Bi emission increased with increasing content of Y2O3 in the matrix. The optimal concentration of Bi was found to be 0.08 mol percent independent of the composition of the mixture and of the amount of added europium or dysprosium. There was no difference in the temperature behaviour between mono- or biactivated samples. The excitation spectra of Bi-, Bi,Eu-, and Bi,Dy-activated luminophors showed two maxima in the region of 332 nm and 221 nm. (author)
