[en] The paper discusses the incentives of a nuclear power utility to acquire a computer codes system for in-core fuel management and adjoining fuel cycle operations. The anticipated frequency of computer runs will determine whether the operator is recommended to purchase, license or - otherwise develop the code modules, certain practical existing code - systems are referred to as an illustration of the requirement faced by a utility entering the phase of its nuclear commitment
