AbstractAbstract
[en] Neodymium-148, the stable fission product has been proved to be one of the best monitors for the determination of nuclear fuel burn-up using triple spike isotope dilution mass spectrometry. For the precise and accurate determination of neodymium it is essential to separate it from bulk of other materials and purify from cerium and samarium which would otherwise cause isobaric interferences. A single stage anion exchange procedure for the separation and purification of neodymium from fission products has been developed. This method supercedes the lengthy and time consuming two stage anion exchange procedure normally used and ensures good chemical yield. (author)
