AbstractAbstract
[en] The construction of the proportional electroluminescent chambers (PEC), in which electric conducting signal fibers have at the same time luminescent and light-conducting properties, is described. The signal fibres have the following functions: formation of the electric field which provides the gas amplification near the fibers 105-106, and the transformation of the short wave optical electroluminescent radiation into the more long wave radiation extending along the fibers without the noticeable attenuation (< or approximately 10 db). The PEC fibers are of a three-layer structure and consists of a luminescent and light-conducting core, envelope from a material, transmitting ultraviolet radiation and external electric conducting film. The first experimental results of an investigation of the working performances of gas electroluminescent counters are presented. Besides, the construction of the volume particle detectors with the spatial resolution of 30-200 μm, basing on the multichannel PEC and providing to register the particle with the lifetime of the order 10-4 s, is considered
