AbstractAbstract
[en] Using a new method of proximity electron tunneling spectroscopy (PETS) specifically developed to extend tunneling spectroscopy to poorly oxidizing metals, we have determined the effective phonon spectra α2F(ω) for V and its important A-15 compound, V3Ga. The results are compared with neutron scattering data. Generally good agreement is found for V while the tunneling results for V3Ga at 1.40K show phonon softening and better resolution than available in the neutron results at 2970K
