AbstractAbstract
[en] A technique of obtaining a polarized proton beam in universal magnetic channels for secondary particles of ITEF synchrotron in scattering of the internal synchrotron beam by a hydrogen-containing (polyethelene) target is described. Methods of primary separation of protons elastically scattered by hydrogen of the polyethelene target have been considered. Adduced are magnetic channel characteristics for extraction of polarized protons of 2.1 GeV/c at 10.5 deg angle and 0.4 GeV/c recoil protons at 72 deg angle and the results of their adjustment. Polarization of the proton beam on the basis of known experimental data on polarization in p-p elastic scattering with provision for a degree of elastically scattered proton separation in the channel and their depolarization when transporting has been calculated. The proton beam polarization depends on the separation scheme of elastic events, angular divergence and a pulse band of the beam. Its maximum value equals 0.34+-0.03. Suggested is a technique of secondary particle channel adjustment based on a simple focusing of pulse proton beam entering the channel in elastic scattering
