[en] D meson inclusive production in the e⁺e^- annihilation is discussed. This consideration is carried out on the basis of the fragmentation functions of heavy quarks (Q=c,b) into hadrons. Summed distribution of charged and neutral D mesons in the e⁺e^- annihilation versus the variable x=|psub(D) vector |/|psub(D)sup(max) vector |, where psub(D) vector is a D meson momentun, is presented. It is shown that the early calculated fragmentation function of the c quark into D mesons is in good agreement with new experimental data
