AbstractAbstract
[en] The possible role of gluons in hadronic processes as suggested by the quark-parton model and QCD is discussed and evaluated. Attention is focused on heavy (e.g., charmed) hadron production, large p/sub T/ hadronic physics, and massive lepton pair production at large p/sub T/. A discussion of more rigorous tests of QCD and the role of gluons in e+e- annihilation is also given. 55 references
