AbstractAbstract
[en] Simulated zirconia-type calcined waste is pelletized on a 41-cm diameter disc pelletizer using 5% bentonite, 2% metakaolin, and 2% boric acid as a solid binder and 7M phosphoric plus 4M nitric acid as a liquid binder. After heat treatment at 8000C for 2 hours the pellets are impact resistant and have a leach resistance of 10-4 g/cm2 . day, based on Soxhlet leaching for 100 hours at 950C with distilled water. An integrated pilot plant is being fabricated to verify the process. 1 figure, 4 tables
