AbstractAbstract
[en] One of the most interesting schemes for actinide disposal is the transmutation of long lived radioactive nuclei to shorter lived by recycling in fission reactors. This first study on transuranium nuclides production and recycling in HTGRs was initiated and partly supported by EURATOM JRC Ispra. Discharged actinides up to Californium - 252 from a PNP - 3000 MW (HTGR pebble bed reactor for process heat of 3000 MWsub(th) with 'once-through-then-out' fuel cycle) and homogeneously recycling are calculated. The aim of this study is to show one possible concept of nuclear transmutation. It was not the aim to consider the technical details of the recycling, but to make investigations from the reactor physical point of view
