AbstractAbstract
[en] A long term strategy for FBR commercialization is discussed. For safety level, several points should be taken into consideration, such as no ''absolute'' safety, technological development stages and steps, fuel cycle safety and safety perception by the public. For implementation to achieve the safety level, needed are a) accumulation of practical experience in and demonstration of design and operation of early FBR plants, such as prototype and demonstration plants as well as relevant fuel cycle activities (and b) a close international cooperation to achieve a world-wide consensus in the principle of FBR safety, regulation, codes and standards, and the effective way to acquire public confidence in FBR safety
