[en] Computed tomography has become an accepted diagnostic X-ray technique, yielding valuable additional information particularly in examinations of soft tissue. The increased knowledge of transverse anatomy gained from the CT images has led to diagnostic procedures and indications for X-ray examinations being revised. The Tomoscan 300, which has been in use in the Staedtischen Kliniken Braunschweig for more than a year, provides a high degree of spatial resolution in both large and small areas of the body. Examples are given of CT images revealing additional information to that of the conventional radiographs. (Auth.)
