AbstractAbstract
[en] The closed-form solution for the transmitted electromagnetic, impulsive, transverse magnetic plane wave obliquely incident on the compressible plasma halfspace has been obtained using a first-order perturbation theory. The ratio of the electron acoustic velocity and the speed of light a = v/c plays the role of a small parameter. Similar to the reflected waveform, the effects of the shift along the w/sub p/t axis (angle of incidence q<450) and the change of the amplitude (q> or =450) have been observed. Implications of these results for the possible plasma diagnostics are discussed, and further investigations are suggested
