[en] Second harmonic generation due to the incidence of an electromagnetic wave on a weakly inhomogeneous plasma is investigated under conditions when the plasma density gradient is perpendicular to the external magnetic field. The efficiency of transformation of energy into the second harmonic is calculated and the dependence of the effect on polarization of the wave incident on the palsma is presented
