[en] A detailed analysis of production of the heavy quark containing hadrons is presented. The formulae for the total and differential inclusive cross section for such hadrons are derived. Predictions of the model well agree with the experimental data on open charm production, although the set of available data is still not reliable The cross sections given by the model slightly differ from parametrisations frequently used while evaluating the charm production cross section. In particular, the inclusive spectra for the proton fragmentation region in pN collisions decrease like (1-x)⁷ rather than like (1-x)sub(3-4) as it is supposed frequently for estimations. Analysis of pair production of heavy quark containing hadrons shows that they are produced close to each other in the rapidity space. All these peculiarities of inclusive spectra are to be accounted for while analysing experimental data
