AbstractAbstract
[en] The effect of macrocomponents during atomic absorption determination of Ag, Te, Pb, Co, Ni (1x10-6, 1x10-4%) is studied. The matrix effect on the results of graphite furnace atomic absorption analysis are connected with analyte and concomitant chemical forms in the solution and conditioned by chemical reactions which occur in the gas phase. The elements are lost due to forming some compounds in the gas phase that causes a decrease in the peak amplitude and area. Analytes can form intermetallic compounds with concomitants in nitrate media; chlorides as well as intermetallic compounds form in hydrochloric media. The non-specific absorption value in the presence of concomitant chlorides and nitrates depends on the thermal treatment and atomization temperature, boiling points and dissociation energies of the chlorides, tendency of some elements to form carbon-containing molecules in the furnace gas phase
