AbstractAbstract
[en] Results are presented of measurements realized aiming to determine the disintegration constant of spontaneous fission of U-238, with a discussion of the method utilized in the detection of fission tracks in muscovite. Several blades of mica were placed between two cylinders of Uo2 to be irradiated with the fragments of spontaneous fission of U-238, and the fission tracks duly enlarged after a convenient chemical action were observed with a projection optical microscope. The effective thickness of UO2 contributing to the observed tracks was measured through the irradiation of mica samples juxtaposed to the UO2 cylinder, with 14,0 MeV neutrons from the (d,t2) reaction. The detection efficiency of fission tracks originated in that thickness is practically 100%

Apresentam-se os resultados das medidas realizadas para a obtencao da constante de desintegracao da fissao espontanea do 238U, com uma discussao do metodo utilizado na deteccao dos tracos de fissao, com a mica muscovita. Varias laminas de mica foram colocadas entre dois cilindros de UO2 para serem irradiadas com os fragmentos de fissao espontanea do 238U, e os tracos alargados depois de um ataque quimico conveniente puderam ser observados com um microscopio optico de projecao. A espessura efetiva do UO2, que contribui com os tracos observados, foi medida atraves da irradiacao de amostras de mica justapostas ao cilindro de UO2, com neutrons de 14,0Mev, provenientes da reacao (d,t). A eficiencia de deteccao dos tracos de fissao originados nessa espessura e de praticamente 100%. (Autor)Original Title
