AbstractAbstract
[en] The Oconee Nuclear Station is a three unit Babcock and Wilcox 177 FA 2568 MWt lowered loop configuration. Plant simulation models have been developed using the RETRAN code to provide operational support and to perform safety analyses in response to regulatory concerns. The model qualification effort is centered around direct comparisions between plant transient data and RETRAN simulations. Oconee is equipped with a data logging system, the transient monitor, which records a set of plant instrumentation and performance data at a one second frequency. This system provides an excellent source of actual plant transient data for comparison with code results
