[en] The first two chapters cover the basic properties of radionuclides and the instrumentation currently used for their detection and measurement. The body of the book includes chapters on the measurement of blood volume and of cell survival, ferrokinetic studies (⁵⁹Fe, ⁵⁵Fe, and ⁵²Fe are discussed), the use of external counters and of imaging techniques; a chapter on absorption, loss and clearance studies includes a discussion of vitamin B₁₂ and iron absorption. Throughout, the theory, practice, interpretation and clinical usefulness of each test is discussed and sufficient practical detail is included to allow the book to be used as a laboratory workbook.
