AbstractAbstract
[en] Using a mass-selected ion injection technique, the drift velocities of O+2, N+2 and CO+ ions have been measured in a drift-tube mass spectrometer system. Mobility values are obtained over a wide range of the parameter E/p (in effect, over a range of different ion energies) in three buffer gases: Ar, Ne and Kr. Evidence for ion/molecule reactions is observed in all cases, but the reaction rate coefficients are low even at high values of mean energies. (orig.)
