[en] The current status of personnel monitoring using thermoluminescent dosimetry is reviewed. The review covers (1) different forms of TLD detectors used in national personnel monitoring services of USA, Canada, Japan, U.K., India and some other countries, (2) TL materials used for dosimeters of different types of radiations, (3) TLD badge systems, and (4) reader systems. The personnel monitoring TLD badge developed in India is based on CaSO₄:Dy embedded Teflon discs. It is described in detail and its performance characteristics are given. (M.G.B.)
