[en] By examining the strong and weak coupling limits we select a particular Migdal-Kadanoff renormalization transformation. We compare the results obtained by means of this transformation with the recent Monte Carlo calculations. The predictions for the average plaquette agree within 10% while a less satisfactory agreement for the function g20(a). (orig.)
