[en] The mathematical consequences of the ansatz that the generators of internal transformations, as well as the parameters, may be space--time-dependent is investigated. In addition to the Yang--Mills type fields, a transformation changing field must be introduced. The formalism developed is consistent. An appendix contains a derivation of the Fock--Ivanenko coefficient for the Dirac equation in general relativity that shows a connection between the ideas developed here and gauge fields
