AbstractAbstract
[en] Perturbative QCD predictions are presented for the x near 1 behavior of hadronic structure functions. The available energy xW2 is shown to control structure function evolution. In the case of meson structure functions, the xapprox.1 behavior is dominated by a high twist contribution to the longitudinal structure function F/sub L/approx.Cx2/Q2 which can be rigorously computed and normalized
