AbstractAbstract
[en] Certain mass-produced items must be routinely checked for the constancy of specific required metallurgical properties. In steels and iron castings (iron-carbon alloys) any metallurgical changes introduce simultaneous coherent variations in the electrical and magnetic parameters. Non-destructive examination by the eddy current method involves analyzing the impedance values to permit relative conductivity and permeability measurements in ferromagnetic materials, and is thus used to follow the development of various metallurgical properties of FeC alloys. Examples are discussed of frequently encountered problems such as checking structural conditions, measuring surface treatment depth, cold working percentages or hardness values. The results obtained show the ease with which these tests can be implemented and interpreted, but also reveal the critical importance of the experimental conditions

Parmi les fabrications industrielles, certaines pieces produites en grande serie doivent posseder des caracteristiques metallurgiques specifiques dont il est souvent necessaire de controler la constance. Dans le cas des aciers et des fontes (alliages fer-carbone), toute modification metallurgique entraine des variations simultanees et coherentes des parametres electriques et magnetiques. La technique de controle non destructif dite des courants de Foucault permet, par l'intermediaire d'une analyse d'impedance, des mesures relatives de la conductibilite et de la permeabilite de materiaux ferromagnetiques. Cette methode est donc utilisee pour mesurer l'evolution de diverses caracteristiques metallurgiques d'alliages FeC. Les exemples developpes concernent les problemes couramment rencontres tel le controle d'etats structuraux, les mesures de profondeur de traitements superficiels de taux d'ecrouillage, de durete. D'apres les resultats obtenus, l'etude fait apparaitre l'interet de la methode de controle du point de vue des facilites d'utilisation et d'interpretation mais elle souligne aussi le caractere fondamental des conditions experimentalesOriginal Title
