AbstractAbstract
[en] The workers under supervision are exposed to natural or enriched uranium compounds in highly, moderately or slightly transferable form. Apart from systematic uranium determinations in the urine, occasional analyses of the stools and chest examinations, the working premises are also monitored. The urinary uranium test, an indirect method of measuring internal contamination, is considered of great value in the routine supervision of workers exposed to uraniferous compounds. It has brought out several important aspects, especially that of having a more accurate idea of the elimination time for the various compounds at the factory stage: for transferable compounds this is seldom longer than 48h. Another point is that the new classification introducing the notion of moderately transferable compounds (class w), of biological elimination period about 50 days, is found to be much more realistic than the old one where this notion was not accounted for (UO3, UF4). Finally in the light of this test the authors question whether the biological elimination period of little transferable compounds is as long as might be expected (500d), and intend to examine this idea in more detail

Les travailleurs surveilles sont exposes a des composes d'uranium naturel ou enrichi sous des formes transferables, moyennement transferables ou peu transferables. Outre les dosages systematiques d'uranium dans les urines, les dosages occasionnels dans les selles, les controles au niveau de la poitrine, on controle egalement les locaux de travail. On considere que le dosage de l'uranium urinaire, methode indirecte de mesure de la contamination interne, garde toute sa valeur dans la surveillance de routine des travailleurs exposes aux composes uraniferes. Elle a permis de degager plusieurs notions jugees importantes, notamment d'avoir une idee plus precise de la duree d'elimination des differents composes au stade de l'usine: pour les composes transferables, elle depasse rarement 48h. Elle a permis egalement de se rendre compte que la nouvelle classification introduisant la notion de composes moyennement transferables (classe w), a periode biologique d'elimination de 50 jours environ, est beaucoup plus proche de la realite que l'ancienne qui n'en tenait pas compte (UO3, UF4). Enfin elle a amene les auteurs a se demander si la periode biologique d'elimination des composes peu transferables est aussi longue que ce qu'on pourrait penser (500j).
