AbstractAbstract
[en] For pumping hot radioactive liquids, ejectors are used with a supplemental vapour removal component to avoid ejector choking. In one form of the invention steam from a line enters the inlet of an injector tangentially so as to induce rotational flow, liquid from the tank being drawn into the ejector. The rotational flow causes the liquid to flow outwards towards an outlet while any vapour collects in the centre of the ejector to be removed by an ejector via pipe and returned to the tank. In another form an ejector draws liquid from a tank into a flash chamber via tangential inlets, vapour separating out to be removed by an ejector. (author)
