AbstractAbstract
[en] This work describes a search for narrow baryon resonances (of masses between 3.4 and 5 GeV) through a π-p large angle elastic scattering formation experiment. An optimization of the sensitivity of the experiment to detect resonances is obtained by the measurement of the central part of the angular distribution (/cos theta*/<=0.4). An exceptional mass resolution has been achieved by using a focusing spectrometer which measures the incident particles momenta with a precision Δplab/plab=+-2x10-4. The apparatus and data analysis are described in details. No narrow resonance has been found, the sensitivity of the experiment being characterized by a width GAMMA approximately equal to 1 MeV and an elasticity x approximately equal to 0.01. Finally, the differential cross section measurement is compared to some parton models

Ce travail decrit la recherche de resonances baryoniques etroites de masses comprises entre 3.4 et 5 GeV, en formation dans la diffusion elastique π-p a grand angle. La mesure de la partie centrale de la diffusion angulaire /cos theta*/<=0.4 permet d'optimiser la sensibilite de l'experience a des resonances. Une resolution en masse exceptionnelle est obtenue grace a un spectrometre focalisant assurant une mesure de l'impulsion des particules incicentes avec une precision relative Δplab/plab=+-2x10-4. L'appareillage et l'analyse des donnees sont decrits en detail. Aucune resonance etroite n'a ete mise en evidence, la sensibilite de l'experience etant caracterisee par des largeurs GAMMA approximativement egales a 1 MeV et des elasticites x approximativement egales a 0.01.
