AbstractAbstract
[en] Thorium analysis has been investigated by activation with 20.5 MeV bremsstrahlung from a microtron in samples of compound chemical composition. A sensitivity limit of (0.5-5.0)x10-7 g/g was obtained in 60 min measurements by a photopeak of 231Th with E=84.2 keV. A semiconductor Ge-detector with 500 eV resolution for a photopeak Esub(γ)=77.1 keV was used for the measurements. It is shown that the sensitivity of thorium analysis by this method is (10-100) fold higher than one can achieve by activation with epithermal neutrons
