AbstractAbstract
[en] A search for backwards produced mesons decaying into p anti p system (baryonium) through the reaction π+p→Δ++pantip was the main purpose of WA 56 experiment (C.E.R.N. - Omega spectrometer). After a theoretical and experimental review on baryonium states, we describe the lay out of the apparatus. In the analysis we underline the possibility to identify slow particules by means of a scintillator counter surrounding the target. First results are reported; no significant structure has been observed in pantip invariant mass distribution

La recherche d'etats mesoniques etroits p anti p produits vers l'arriere (baryonium) dans la reaction π+p→Δ++pantip a ete l'objet de l'experience WA 56 (C.E.R.N. - Spectrometre Omega). Apres une retrospective theorique et experimentale sur la baryonium nous donnons une description de l'appareillage. Dans l'analyse des donnees nous insistons sur la possibilite d'identifier des particules lentes au moyen d'un compteur a scintillation entourant la cible. Les premiers resultats ne laissent apparaitre aucune structure dans le spectre de masse pantipOriginal Title
