AbstractAbstract
[en] For the purpose of search for new short-living particles the technique for determining the vertex localization for neutrino interactions in a hybrid detector (nuclear emulsion placed inside a bubble chamber) is developed. Twenty two 1-l modules of cryogenic nuclear photoemulsion have been placed inside a 15-ft bubble chamber FNAL filled with deuterium. Emulsion modules have been placed in two boxes and mounted on the front internal chamber wall. The localization of the interaction vertex has been determined by tracks of secondary charged particles visible in the bubble chamber. Measured and replaced tracks into the space have been extrapolated in the emulsion region with account for particle momentum and magnetic field in the chamber. For spatial reconstruction of events the geometric reconstruction program HYDRA GEOMETRY developed in CERN and adapted at the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Physics (ITEPh) for image processing from the 15-ft chamber has been used. I,. may be concluded from comparison of predicted and measured vertex coordinates that the dimensions of the required zone of search for events in the emulsion within the limits of two standard deviations with account of shifting in average constitute: along the X-axis +-5.6 mm, Y-axis +-1.4 mm, Z-axis +-3.0 mm. For particle tracks with a momenta >=3.0 GeV/c the root-mean-square deviation of measured and predicted angle values constitutes 0.4 deg and 0.6 deg by azimuth and immersion angle, respectively. These values correspond to the accuracy of angle measurement in emulsion
