AbstractAbstract
[en] The structure of Tl and Hg isotopes near the 208Pb core is discussed in terms of a weak-coupling model where low-lying proton-hole states are coupled to low-lying neutron-hole states. The even Pb isotopes are first discussed in terms of a generalized seniority-2 approximation which is shown to be very accurate. The weak-coupling results are not satisfactory, and it is suggested that the defeat may be in the n-p interaction
