AbstractAbstract
[en] The microstructure and mechanical properties of low carbon (0,02% weight) and high Niobium content (2% weight) austenitic stainless steel, obtained in a vacuum induction furnace were studied. It was observed that the yied proof stress and the ultimate tensile stress increase with the Niobium content but with a great ductility loss, mainly in the samples annealed in high temperatures, due to the presence of delta-ferrite. Foi estudado a microestrutura e as propriedades mecanicas de acos inoxidaveis de baixo teor de carbono (0,02% peso) e alto teor de Niobio (2% em peso), obtidos em forno de inducao a vacuo. Ocorre um aumento da tensao de escoamento e do limite maximo de resistencia com o teor de niobio mas com uma reducao significativa da dutilidade nas amostras solubilizadas em altas temperaturas, provocadas pela presenca de ferrita delta.
