AbstractAbstract
[en] This report outlines a strategy for maintaining vigorous solar system space research. The following recommendations are made. A balanced program of research devoted to interactive solar terrestrial processes, particularly for solar physics, terrestrial magnetospheric physics and terrestrial upper-atmospheric physics should be maintained; shuttle-class instruments should be kept in space longer than one week at a time; theory must play an increasingly central role in the planned development of solar-system space physics; coordinated research should be an important objective of solar-terrestrial physics; and measurements of plasmas, fields, and energetic particles must remain integral parts of each planetary mission
