AbstractAbstract
[en] Maxwell's equations with appropriate boundary conditions are solved for a pulsed cylindrical conductor. The results are applied to the lithium lens used as an antiproton collector for the Fermilab pp collider. The magnetic field is expressed as a function of radial distance and time. The time corresponding to maximum linearity is calculated. A method for measuring the current density at the surface is discussed and the Joule heat produced per pulse is calculated
