AbstractAbstract
[en] Corrosion in PWR systems is a continuing problem that can result in significant expenditures for inspection, repair, and replacement of steam generators as well as for power replacement during outages. Model boilers operated in parallel to the steam generator may provide a useful tool for monitoring and studying steam generator corrosion and corrosion prevention processes. The potential benefits of such boilers as well as several conceptual boiler design alternatives are described, and approximate costs for fabrication and operation of such systems are presented
