[en] The detailed time- and spatial-behaviours of emissions from iron impurities with the different ionic charge were obtained in the JFT-2 deutrium discharges with co- or counter-injections. In co-injection, the iron impurity is driven out from the central region of the plasma, and in counter-injection, they appear to accumulate and the plasma is not disrupted. These enhanced diffusion of the iron impurity can well be explained by the neutral-beam induced effect (direct beam-impurity interaction and toroidal rotation of the plasma), predicted by the neoclassical theory.
