AbstractAbstract
[en] A technique for separation of manganese radioactive isotopes (manganese-54) from an iron target after irradiation with deuterons and fast neutrons by the target dissolution, extraction by TBP and subsequent reextraction by 1M HCl has been developed. The target has been dissolved at 50-80 deg C in alkali solution of alkali metal hypochlorite or -hypobromite in the presence of catalysts (copper,- nickel- or cobalt salts) in amounts of 10-3-10-4 M. Manganese is estracted in the form of permanganate-ions. The extraction of manganese isotopes is approximately 99%, the amount of radiochemical admixtures does not exceed 0.01%
