[en] Data has been collected on PBFA I using three related diode types: (1) the Ampfion diode, (2) the applied field diode, and (3) the pinch reflex diode. Concurrent with these PBFA I experiments, complementary experiments were carried out on Proto I at Sandia, as well as the Lion accelerator at Cornell University, and the Gamble II accelerator at the Naval Research Laboratory. In addition to these experiments, improved electromagnetic particle-in-cell codes and analytical treatments were brought to bear on improving our understanding of diode phenomena. A brief review of some of the results is given
