AbstractAbstract
[en] The author describes attempts, including from Sweden, to prevail on the International Electrotechnical Commission to produce standards covering nuclear power plant control room instrumentation. The factors in the alleged slowness of the IEC to respond following the Harrisburg incident are presented. The article concludes with a review of the future of the IEC and a call for experienced Swedish executives in the industry to regularly visit IEC Headquarters (H.J.P.)
