AbstractAbstract
[en] The pile-service of the Nuclear Research Centre at Grenoble has developed the AQUILON device that enables power-ramp experiments on fuel pins in pressurized water type reactors. Besides the usual possibilities of loading and unloading, the device can be equipped for the analysis of fuel clad interactions and for the detection of deep cracks. In this paper, both the in-pile and the out-of-pile part of the device is described, as well as those parts of the additional equipment above mentioned. Some experimental results on failed element detection are given. (G.J.P.)
