AbstractAbstract
[en] Production of single charged pions in reactions νsub(μ)N → μsup(-)Nπ in the kinematical region associated with neutrino scattering on virtual mesons is considered. The total and differential cross sections of this process are numerically calculated for neutrino beam energies of 10 and 20 GeV. It is shown that the dominant mechanism of single-pion production in the one-meson-exchange model is neutrino scattering on virtual f and rho mesons. The contribution given by virtual π mesons is two or three order less. Study of reactions νsub(μ)N → μ-Nπ in the one-meson-exchange range will provide valuable information on weak fπ and rhoπ transitions. The total cross section of the νN → νNπ0 reaction turns out to be of an order lower than for single-pion production in charged current
