[en] The first developments of cryogenic cables in the USSR date back to the late sixties though there exist earlier works concerning this problem. At the present time, programs of creation of cryoconducting and superconducting cables are being realized. From the point of view of long distance power lines, the flexible cryogenic cable, which may be manufactured in 100 to 200m lengths, seems more promising than the rigid one. Test results for simulated flexible cryoconducting (CCC) and superconducting cables (SCC) designed and manufactured in VNIIKP are presented
