AbstractAbstract
[en] Nb3Sn crystals were grown from Nb-Sn solutions of various compositions which were prepared in vacuum-sealed niobium tubes. Nb3Sn polycrystals of grain size less than 200 μm were obtained in the solutions with a high niobium content, whereas euhedral crystals of grain size greater than 200 μm were obtained in the solutions with a low niobium content. Most of the euhedral crystals were porous. Skeletal and dendritic Nb3Sn crystals also crystallized from the niobium-poor solutions. The occurrence and morphology of the Nb3Sn crystals were examined using optical microscopes and a scanning electron microscope equipped with an energy-dispersive X-ray analyser. The lattice parameters of the Nb3Sn were determined using the Debye-Scherrer method. (Auth.)
