[en] In the Federal Republic of Germany a generation of modern 1300 MW pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants manufactured by Kraftwerk Union has been described by the term ''Convoy''. The first commenced on August 2, 1982 with the construction of the Isar No. 2 Nuclear Power Plant (KKI 2), which established a data for the adoption of ''Convoy''. All essential work and decisions in the ''Convoy'' affect this project in a date context first and foremost and thus prescribe to it a ''model'' character. Using KKI 2 as an example the paper describes in separate sections ''Convoy'' in broad terms from concept to reality; in one section the technology of the centralized unit building and in another the new concept of project development are described.
