[en] The ambiguity group of the canonical transformation which introduces the scattering variables 'deflection angle' and 'time delay' is not trivial. The restriction of the scattering operator to the invariant subspaces of the representations of this group leads exactly to the Aharonov-Bohm effect. Distinct values of the magnetic flux correspond to inequivalent representations. (Auth.)
