AbstractAbstract
[en] We have completed an experimental investigation of the solubility of H2O in Li2O. The data from this work have been analyzed and placed in a form suitable for thermodynamic calculations. These calculations permit detailed consideration of the thermodynamic (not kinetic) characteristics of tritium release from the Li2O system as well as of the chemical and thermal stability. Included is a firmer understanding of the phase relationships and vaporization behavior. Ceramics other than Li2O that are to be treated similarly are γ-LiAlO2, Li4SiO4, Li8ZrO6, and Li2BeO2
