AbstractAbstract
[en] A modified polysulfone film, as manufactured by Bayer (West Germany), is a candidate dielectric material for applications where radiation resistant properties superior to those of Mylar polyester are required. In 1981 it was concluded that polysulfone films exhibited a dielectric strength 20 to 25% lower than Mylar at elevated temperatures of 740C. Consequently, a new design comparable to the SA2954 Mylar capacitor was formulated with equivalent dielectric strength. This design also demonstrated an improvement in overall reliability as compared to the Mylar design when based on functional electrical test and environmental test performance. This design description and accompanying test results are presented in this report
