[en] Under extreme conditions (temperature: 1800C), which, however, have not to be expected in the annulus of a pressurized water reactor during a design basis accident, no significant difference was found in the extent of the retention of I-131 loaded as elemental iodine, by various fresh and aged commercial activated carbons (at the same aging time). With fresh carbons, the I-131 passing through deep beds of activated carbon was in a nonelemental form. To the contrary, with aged carbons, also elemental I-131 passed through equivalent carbon beds. Unter extremen Bedingungen (Temperatur: 1800C), die im Ringraum eines DWR waehrend eines Auslegungsstoerfalls allerdings nicht zu erwarten sind, wurde kein entscheidender Unterschied im Ausmass der Abscheidung von I-131, beaufschlagt als elementares Iod, durch verschiedene frische und gealterte kommerzielle Aktivkohlen festgestellt (bei gleicher Alterungszeit). Bei frischen Aktivkohlen war das I-131, das tiefe Kohlebetten durchdrang, in einer nichtelementaren Form. Im Gegensatz dazu durchdrang bei gealterten Aktivkohlen auch elementares I-131 entsprechende Aktivkohlebetten. (orig./HP)Original Title
