AbstractAbstract
[en] With the aim of magnetic, magnetooptical and optical measurement techniques ion tracks produced by energetic heavy ion irradiations in ferrimagnetic granates have been investigated. In detail, the irradiations done in the temperature range 4.2 K <= T <= 550 K affect the saturation magnetization, the uniaxial anisotropy field, the Faraday rotation, the optical absorption and the value of the Curie-temperature. An interpretation of the observed radiation effects has been tried on the basis of the induced defect structures in the granates. (RK)
